Ergonomics in Hospital Design:
A Guide and Workbook to Prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders
According to WSIB statistics, musculoskeletal disorders (MSD) in Ontario hospitals are the most prevalent type of workplace incident. It is a well-established fact that intervention at the design phase of a workplace, work station, equipment or the job itself is the most effective means of controlling MSD risk. Ergonomics and Hospital Design: A Guide & Workbook to Prevent Musculoskeletal Disorders champions the need for better ergonomic design to support the ongoing well-being of our health care employees, our most valuable resource. By integrating ergonomics in the design of new buildings, the risks of musculoskeletal disorders can be minimized.

Included with each copy of Ergonomics and Hospital Design is the double-sided ERGO Wheel, a valuable tool that can be used to determine the most suitable sitting and standing workstation dimensions for a range of employees.
