Workplace Violence
Workplace Violence Prevention in the
Health and Community Care Sector (DVD) - The Ontario health and community
care sector currently has the highest provincial rate of lost-time injuries due
to workplace violence. All too often, incidents go unreported and in some cases
are even considered part of the job! This important DVD, funded by the Ministry
of Health & Long-Term Care and released in 2008, is the first educational video
available on this topic for the health and community care sector. Look for an
updated edition spring 2010, which will include information on the amendments to
the OHS Act effective June 15, 2010, as well as more information on Domestic
Violence in the workplace.

Dementia Education Needs Assessment (DENA) Matrix is a practical “catalogue”
of education programs that are provided by the members of the Healthy and Safe
Places to Live and Work Collaborative Group. These programs were used by this
Collaborative in the conceptualization, development and testing of the DENA
tool. However, users are encouraged to apply DENA to support decision making in
relation to any dementia related education programs that are being considered as
part of the organization’s ongoing learning and knowledge transfer activities. 20080130
