| The Workplace Safety
& Insurance Act applies to all employers
whose operations in Ontario are represented
by the industries listed in Schedules 1 and
2 of Regulation 1102 under the Act.
Schedule 1 Employers
Are collectively liable for all costs
of their claims, pay assessment premiums
to the accident fund of the Workplace
Safety & Insurance Board (WSIB).
Schedule 2 Employers
Are liable for their claim costs. They
individually deposit funds with WSIB to
cover those costs. Schedule 2 employers,
as well as any other employers whose industries
are not listed in
either Schedule 1 or 2, can apply to the
WSIB to transfer to Schedule 1.
The following Schedule 1 rate groups as
assigned by the WSIB are the client organizations
of OSACH.
- 851 - Homes for Nursing Care
- 852 - Homes for Residential Care
- 853 - Hospitals
- 857 - Nursing Services
- 858 - Group Homes
- 861 - Treatment Clinics and
Specialized Services
- 875 - Professional Offices and Agencies
In addition, organizations listed under
Schedule 2 which are engaged in operations
that are essentially the same as those
of Schedule 1 employers in the above Rate
Groups and have been assigned to OSACH
by WSIB are also part of the client base.
