Carolyn James has 20 years of experience in the field of work-related injuries. She has recently written an MSD prevention training manual (comprised of eight modules and presentations) to be presented throughout the Department of National Defence.

Carolyn is a registered physiotherapist with a master's degree from the University of Western Ontario where she developed and published a measurement tool for assessing the risk to computer users of developing repetitive strain injuries. She also has a certificate in occupational health from Ryerson University and has taught at the University of Toronto, the University of Western Ontario and the National Institute for Disability Management and Research.

Carolyn has been consulting in the field of occupational health and safety since 1996 and is an experienced and competent trainer. She has worked with clients in health care, food processing, auto parts manufacturing and offices. She represented her peers on a WSIB expert review panel regarding low back pain research and has been the media resource for the Canadian Physiotherapy Association on topics such as mobile technology.
