2008 Safety Group Earns Big Rebate
Since the introduction of Safety Groups in 2002, they have proven to be an important learning opportunity. They are helping employers to raise the level of safety awareness within their organization. They are effective tools for achieving compliance, and they are great networking opportunities. But to be truly successful, they must establish a spirit of team work between all the participants. OSACH's 2008 Safety Group, our
fourth, embodies all of these characteristics. There is also a financial incentive for Safety Groups. It is in the form of a rebate from the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. The WSIB’s criteria are tough and place a priority on team work, as well as the ability to develop five health and safety program components. In order to qualify for the six per cent rebate, the entire Safety Group must achieve a high level of success in these three key areas.
Congratulations to the members of OSACH’s
2008 Safety Group for earning a rebate of $508,131.96.
